Sorry I have no knowledge about batteries. My kayak is a Hobie Outback. It's the best exercise I get these days. Lol.

I have a Pescadore Pilot. I am very happy with it. For a budget peddle kayak it is made well and is very stable. How do you transport yours? Before I got my Ridgeline I was killing myself putting it on the top of my Mountaineer. I haven't used it since I got the Ridgeline so I am not sure how to transport it because the Ridgeline only has a 6" bed.

My Silverado has a short bed (6.5 ft) and when I put the tailgate down it gives me another 2ft. My kayak is approximately 12ft and I just lay it in the bed when I'm going short distances. I tie it down of course so it doesn't slide out.

If I'm going further I use a hitch extension that's made for transporting kayaks & canoes. See link. I got mine from Amazon. Leif
